Acceptance into the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) is a major step in any Creator's journey. As part of YPP, Creators can start monetizing their content, receive email and chat support, and get access to the Copyright Compliance Tool to help protect their content.
A key requirement for YPP eligibility is compliance with YouTube's monetization policies, which include the YouTube Community Guidelines, Terms of Service and Google AdSense program policies. These policies apply to the Creator's channel as a whole, not just specific videos.
Setting the highest bar for monetization
Over the past few years, YouTube has taken steps to tighten monetization requirements so that spammers, copycats, and other bad actors can't harm the ecosystem or take advantage of good Creators who produce high-quality content.
To apply for membership in the Affiliate Program, channels must meet eligibility criteria related to viewing time and subscribers. Following a request, YouTube's review team ensures that the channel has not violated YouTube's monetization, content, and copyright policies. Only channels that meet the eligibility requirements and follow all of our guidelines will be accepted into the program, which makes them eligible to receive access to ads and other monetization products.
